Privacy Policy
How we handle personal information from website visitors and business enquiries.
Who we are and scope
ProtecTRON Australia Pty Ltd (we, us or our) operates the ProtecTRON Australia website. Our privacy contact is rob.slattery@tronlabs.ai.
This policy covers personal information handled through our public website, including protectron-aus.com.au, its www address and protectron-aus.vercel.app, and related business enquiries, briefing requests, demonstration requests, accessibility requests and privacy correspondence.
It is not a description of how customer forensic evidence, incident data or information in a deployed Protectron system is processed. Those activities require appropriate authority, engagement-specific notices and agreements addressing access, purposes, locations, security and retention. This website policy does not override applicable privacy law or those obligations.
Information on this website about sovereign, self-hosted or air-gapped product deployments must not be read as a promise that public website traffic or enquiry emails remain in Australia.
Information we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, work email address, organisation if provided, selected area of interest, message and subsequent correspondence.
- Information you choose to send: other contact details, professional role, meeting preferences or business requirements included in your email or follow-up discussion.
- Assistance and privacy requests: the issue you report, relevant page or device details you choose to provide, and information reasonably needed to handle your request.
- Technical website information: information processed by the hosting service to deliver and protect the website, as described below.
We generally collect enquiry information directly from you. If someone contacts us on your behalf, we ask them to share only information they are authorised to provide and explain the source where appropriate.
Please do not send passwords, access tokens, forensic images, incident evidence, classified material or unnecessary personal or sensitive information through the public form or ordinary email. Ask for a suitable secure channel first. You do not need to disclose a disability or medical information to request accessibility assistance.
If we receive unsolicited personal information that we do not need and cannot lawfully retain, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to any legal preservation requirement.
The enquiry form
The form uses JavaScript in your browser to prepare an email addressed to rob.slattery@tronlabs.ai. It does not submit the form contents to a website database or send an email automatically. You must review and send the message in your email application. Where the handoff is unavailable, or the message is too long, the form provides a copyable draft.
The form requires a name and valid email address to prepare the draft. Organisation and message are optional. You can browse without completing it, or contact us directly using a pseudonym where lawful and practicable. Without sufficient contact details or information about your request, we may be unable to respond or arrange a briefing.
Preparing a message may pass its contents to your chosen email application or provider before you send it, including through draft synchronisation. Your browser, device and email provider have their own settings and privacy practices. Our receiving mailbox uses Google Workspace. Once you send the message, it is handled and retained as email correspondence in that mailbox.
How we use information
We use relevant information to respond to your enquiry, arrange requested briefings or demonstrations, discuss deployment or partnership requirements, manage related business correspondence, provide accessibility assistance, and address privacy or security concerns. Technical information supports website delivery, troubleshooting and protection against misuse.
We may also use or disclose information where required or authorised by applicable law, including to address legal claims or regulatory requirements. We limit collection and use to information reasonably needed for the relevant purpose.
Submitting an enquiry is not blanket consent to marketing. If we send promotional communications, we will do so only where permitted by applicable law and provide a practical way to stop them. You can ask us not to send marketing by emailing our privacy contact. This does not prevent necessary responses to a request you have made.
Sharing and overseas handling
Website enquiries are received and handled by Rob Slattery at rob.slattery@tronlabs.ai. Enquiries stay in his Google Workspace mailbox and are not shared with TRON Labs or copied into a CRM, spreadsheet, mailing list or AI tool.
Our enquiry mailbox is hosted through Google Workspace. Using this email service involves provider processing to deliver, store and protect communications; it is separate from sharing an enquiry with TRON Labs. Disclosure may also be required by law; this policy does not prevent compliance with a binding legal obligation.
The public website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel describes processing website traffic information and operating internationally, including in the United States, in its Privacy Notice. Website hosting is separate from the storage and processing of emails you send us.
Google Workspace uses international infrastructure and service providers. Google lists data-centre operations for Workspace in Belgium, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States. Its Workspace subprocessor list also identifies countries used for maintenance and support. These are provider-listed locations, not a statement that every enquiry is processed in each country.
Google offers data-region controls, but this policy makes no claim that a particular region is configured for our mailbox. We do not promise Australian-only email or website processing. The locations applicable to a particular message or technical record depend on the service and configuration; contact us if you need further information before sending personal information.
Before making an overseas disclosure, we will assess applicable privacy obligations and use appropriate arrangements to protect the information. Visiting the website or making an enquiry is not, by itself, consent to waive protections for overseas disclosure.
Website technology
The current website code does not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts or embedded social-media widgets. The enquiry script does not save form contents to cookies or browser local storage. These statements concern the website code, not all processing by your browser, email provider or the hosting infrastructure.
Vercel may process technical information such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, system configuration and traffic or diagnostic logs to operate and protect its services, as described in its Privacy Notice. Not using an analytics script does not mean that no technical information is processed.
External websites and email services operate under their own privacy practices. If website tracking or collection features change, we will update this policy and provide any additional notice or choice required by applicable law.
Security and retention
We will take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes limiting access to those who need it and using safeguards appropriate to the systems and information involved. No website or ordinary email service can be guaranteed completely secure.
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here or a legal requirement. Relevant considerations include whether an enquiry is active, whether a business relationship continues, and whether records are needed for legal obligations or claims. When information is no longer needed and retention is not required, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Backups and provider logs may follow separate retention cycles. We will account for those copies in our retention and deletion arrangements. Requests for deletion will be considered in light of applicable law and any continuing need to retain the information; this is not a promise of immediate deletion from every backup.
If a suspected privacy or security incident occurs, we will assess it, take appropriate containment and remedial steps, and notify affected people and authorities where required by applicable law.
Access, correction and choices
Contact rob.slattery@tronlabs.ai to request access to personal information we hold about you, seek correction, ask about retention, request deletion or stop marketing. Describe what you need without sending identity documents or sensitive material in the first email.
We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority before releasing or changing information. We will respond within a reasonable period and comply with any applicable statutory timeframe. We do not charge for making an access or correction request or for correcting information. If a lawful charge for providing access is proposed, we will explain it in advance.
Access or correction may be limited where permitted by law, including to protect another person's privacy. If we refuse a request, we will explain the reasons and available complaint options unless it would be unreasonable or unlawful to do so. Where appropriate, we will consider another way to provide access or associate your statement of disagreement with the record.
Questions and complaints
Send privacy questions or complaints to rob.slattery@tronlabs.ai, with “Privacy” in the subject line. Please describe what happened, when it occurred and the outcome you are seeking.
We will acknowledge the complaint, review relevant information, seek clarification where needed and provide our response and any proposed action. We aim to respond within 30 days. If we need more time, we will explain why and provide an expected response date.
If you are dissatisfied or have not received a response within a reasonable period, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) for guidance about available complaint options. The OAIC's ability to investigate depends on its jurisdiction and the circumstances. Its privacy complaints guidance explains the process.
Updates and other formats
We will update this policy when our information-handling practices change and identify the current version and date. A new version will not retrospectively authorise an unrelated use of information or replace any consent or notice required by law.
You can request a free copy of this policy, including in another practical format, using our privacy contact. See our Accessibility statement for assistance with the website and our Terms of Use for website-use conditions.
